Trust, or the Lack Thereof

I could really use a bottle of  whiskey right about now. I guess it is just one of those days again. I swear, I think too much. I get to thinking about something that is gone by, and I can't get it out of my head. It just sticks in there, and it stays. I really hate that. It becomes almost like an obsession.

Trust takes a lifetime to build, and only the whisper of betrayal to be utterly destroyed! Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about? A betrayal, whether real or imagined, can ruin a person's life. And "love"? Shit, don't get me started!

"Love". A really shitty word, if I must say so. Love is the woman's way to completely ruin a man. To gain his trust, then to shatter that trust right in front of his eyes. Then to try and lie about it, even when the evidence points to her guilt. Love. A way to get fucked without making actual, physical contact with a woman. Love. A quick knife in the back, and a good twist. Love. A way to positively rip the heart out of a man, and then rub his nose in it. Some people aren't as "cute" as they think. Some people are no longer in my protection, or my thoughts. Some of you who read this will try to contact that certain "someone" of whom I speak....they will never know that you tried.

Well, it's a Start

Here, read this real quick, and I will give my thoughts on it(you knew I couldn't resist).

Disciplinary Panel Disbars Duke Prosecutor
By AARON BEARD
AP
RALEIGH, N.C. (June 16) - District Attorney Mike Nifong  was disbarred Saturday for his "selfish" rape prosecution of three Duke University lacrosse players - a politically motivated act, his judges said, that he inexplicably allowed to fester for months after it was clear the defendants were innocent.

"This matter has been a fiasco. There's no doubt about it," said F. Lane Williamson, the chairman of the three-member disciplinary committee that stripped the veteran prosecutor of his state law license.

Even Nifong and his attorneys supported the decision, though the veteran prosecutor refused to admit to the end that no crime occurred at a March 2006 lacrosse team party.

The committee said Nifong manipulated the investigation to boost his chances of winning his first election for Durham County district attorney. In doing so, he committed "a clear case of intentional prosecutorial misconduct" that involved "dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation."

Williamson specifically cited Nifong's comments in the early days of the case, which included a confident proclamation at a candidate forum that he wouldn't allow Durham to become known for "a bunch of lacrosse players from Duke raping a black girl." He also called the lacrosse team "a bunch of hooligans" at one point.

So, now this crooked prosecutor is out. A judge in the case handed him his walking papers today. This is only one case of a crooked prosecutor losing his job; there are others that need to be stopped. The one real crime in all of this; this asshole cost the families of those boys millions of dollars in legal fees, got the boys kicked out of college, and will STILL get his pension money! If he broke the law as they say he did, shouldn't he go to jail?

We have an asshole around here just like this guy. He is the county prosecutor, and a judge at times. He is also an attorney to people who pay him. He will  agree to take someone's case for a fee, and the other side will come in and get him for a larger fee, so he drops the first client. This is, naturally, after he has all the information he needs on the first client to win the case for the second client. Now, I don't know much about law, but wouldn't that come under the heading of "conflict of interest"?

I say that nearly all prosecutors are dirty dealing, underhanded, and plain out crooks. This Mike Nifong case is just the tip of the iceberg. I say "burn them all". They all lie and cheat, and will do anything to win a case, even if the person/s are innocent. Even when they are found to be lying, they never go to jail for their crimes. That is just wrong!

This Just Can't be Fair

Would you like to know what pisses me of? And, shut up in the back, I heard you say "everything". I mean other than that. I have been watching these people on tv that have let themselves go, and are what the doctors call "morbidly obese". I am talking about people who range in weight from 500 to over 700 pounds!

I am not mad because they have done this to themselves,(and the have, I don't care what excuse they use), I am pissed off because I hear the doctors on these shows say that these people "run the risk of heart disease, stroke, or diabetes". WHAT? RUN THE RISK? I can't even get my blood-sugar levels where my doctor wants them, and these 'wide-loads' are only "running the risk of"? What the fuck is that about?

Most of my life I have avoided sugar if I could. I just don't like sweet things. Yes, I have had cake, or candy, or whatever, but always in small portions. I just don't like sweets like other people do. When I first started watching these programs it was more for me than anything else. I figured if I saw it firsthand, then I wouldn't fall into that trap. You see, I tend to not go places these last few years, so I was getting worried that I could end up like one of those people.

I am not without compassion for these people. I know firsthand how hard it was to quit smoking. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to have to virtually stop eating. I mean, you can do without smoking, but everyone HAS TO EAT to live. That is a loaded gun for those people. I can tell you one thing. If they had diabetes, and had to take shots all the time, they might learn a new word...MODERATION. I have had to give up nearly everything I like because of this friggin' diabetes! I truly hope I never end up like one of those people, with some talk-show host cutting a wall out of my house just to get me out....damn, I couldn't even imagine the embarassment, or the feeling of utter failure.

Who Are We

Here is something for you to think about. In my youth, I was introduced to a man who was an Indian Shaman. American Indian, not those rag-head assholes from the middle east. This man was a REAL American Indian, from the Iroquois tribe in Michigan.

I made a few trips to this man for advice. Not because I believed he was like some fortune-teller, but because the things he said made sense. And believe me, at that time, very few things made any sense at all to me. I wouldn't say that on the path of life I was lost, but I was wandering from the path a lot.

On one visit, he asked me, "who are you"? I told him my name, and I said that he knew me. He simply asked the question again..."who are you". I couldn't answer him. At the time, I had no idea "who" I was. He told me not to worry, that I would find out "who I was" soon enough. He told me to always hold the values that I had at the time. Now, that may sound strange to you after reading yesterday's page in this, but it isn't, really.

I have always known what was fair, what was right, and I have an unshakable sense of duty and honor. A sense of brotherhood that has never waned. Those are the things that I was told to hold onto. Who am I?

I am a simple man that enjoys the simple things. I have never lusted for the rich man's gold. I have taught my children right from wrong, and that  family are the only ones you can count on. I will always fight for the underdog in any situation. I don't take shit from anyone, and I have taught my children that trait, also. If I live long enough, I will teach these things to my grandchildren. Oh, I don't worry about death, either. It's just another journey that some take. "Who am I"? The quest to answer that is still on-going; who knows where it shall lead? Now, I ask, "who are YOU"?

Relatives, and Relativity, as Only I can See It

There I was,  going through my E-mails, when I came upon a letter from a relative on my real dad's side. An Aunt, she is really cool, and hey, coolness goes a long way with me. Her question was "what about your younger brother, do you two talk or get along". There is a very simple answer to that...no. But, it is not that simple, at all. Oh, quit yer bitchin', you KNEW it wouldn't be THAT simple!

Actually, there are five of us kids. Four boys, and a little sister that was born last. Because of our mother's constant beatings, us boys hardly ever got along. I think that we took out on each other the hatred we held for our mother. We didn't just argue. Our arguments almost always ended in pure, raw, fights. And none of that sissy-shit, either. None of that rolling around on the ground, and fuckin' around. These were stand-up, fist in the face fights. We didn't mess around. Yes, there was ALWAYS blood in our fights.

Now, there are reasons why I never talk about my siblings. But, the main one is that I hardly care about them at all. I have no sense of family. Getting beat on for most of your childhood sort of does that. I sort of feel bad that one of my brothers is gone, but, hey, "I didn't do it". That sounds bad to you, I know. Besides, I look back at the times we fought each other, and the time me and him fought off a bunch of guys back-to-back one day. He was a tough little bastard, so I know he didn't just lay down. I am convinced he fought to the very end. I respect that, and that is what he would have wanted most...respect.

No, I don't hardly ever talk to my younger brother, even though he lives just a few minutes away. I won't say why here, we just don't click, and we never will. We grew up hard, and we remained that way to this day. I can remember that in High School I was nick-named the "Sucker-Punch King". That was a bit un-deserved, actually. I see a sucker-punch as you hitting a guy from behind. I never did that. Can you remember back in school when two guys would get into a shoving match, and both would say, "hit me, go ahead, hit me"? Well, I never did that.

If another person squared off against me, they were fair game. If their shoulder so much as twitched, or their hand moved, they were instantly on the ground. I never fucked around about hitting first. If you waited at my house in a fight, you got your ass kicked, usually fairly quickly!  I can even remember one time in my junior year, this asshole kept bugging me at the start of the year. He wanted to "challenge the Sucker-Punch King". Some guys are just stupid. One day in class he kept hitting me in the arm, and shooting spit-balls at me. He was in the row to the left of me. I asked the teacher could she make him stop, or could I PLEASE knock him out of his desk?

The teacher, and my tormentor, both found that statement funny, and she told me to be quiet. One more spit-ball was  all that it took. I knocked the bastard right out of his desk, and kicked him around on the floor for a bit. Just a few years ago, some guy that I pissed off said he would run me out of town the next time he saw me. A few days after he said that, I saw his car parked at the local Sheriff's office. So, I pulled behind him, got out of my car, pulled him half-way out of his window, and proceeded to beat the shit out of him right there.

To answer the stupid question now forming on your lips, yes, I went to jail. What do you think? You can't beat people up in front of the Sheriff's office, and just walk away. You have to pay your dues in my "fight club". Did I win every fight? Fuck no! If someone says they have won every fight they had, then they are lying, or have never fought. Let me tell you a little secret...I have actually left in the middle of a fight. If you are losing, why stick around and get beat senseless? Screw that. There aren't any "rules" in street-fighting, and certainly nothing to keep you there if you are taking a beating! So, there it is. I, and my brothers, have absolutely NO QUALMS about beating somebody's ass if need be. Like I always say, "Don't start nothin', and there won't be nothin'". And that, my friends, is how my family puts the 'fun' in dysFUNctional!

Who in the world falls for this shit? I can't believe that anyone could be so easily mis-led by this sort of thing. Do people REALLY think that they can get rich by sending other people money? If that were true, more people would pay their taxes on time! C'mon, minions, don't fall for this crap, and don't let your friends and family, either. Oh, by the way, this isn't my first rodeo, folks. I have seen scams come and go. Hell, I used to sucker people at my local pool hall. Let them win a few games, take some of my money, then raise the stakes, and beat the crap out of them. These scams in your E-mail are no different than a pool shark. Laterzzzzzzzzzzzz

Cats, Jewelry, and Pop-Corn

So, there we were last night, watching Vince McMahon of the "World Wrestling Federation" getting blown up. Now, I like the wrestling because I used to wrestle professionally. No, not here, not now, that is a story for another time, my little minions....

My little kitten that we found abandoned on our door step was trying to get into my pop corn bag. You know the type-you just pop it in the microwave, and about four minutes later you have a tasty treat. Well, she is trying to get into the bag, climbing all over me, and whatnot. Now, I love my cats, but not when I am eating, and certainly not during wrestling. So, I gave her a piece for herself on the floor. She ate it! All of it! So, I gave her some more, thinking she would tire of the "game" and finally leave me alone. No such luck!

Well, I was really into the wrestling last night, so I gave the bag of pop corn to my wife, and told her that the baby kitty would eat as much as she gave her. While my wife was playing with the baby kitty, I noticed that one of our other cats(we have three in the house) was "stealing" her necklace off of the table . I quickly told my wife, "hey, skittles is stealing your necklace"! She had it in her mouth, and was about to jump down from the table(coffee table). This cat has a problem with stealing things...

Back in April, my wife found some mail, actually, quite a lot of mail, under our bed while cleaning. It had little teeth marks in it. Cat teeth marks. At that time, we only had two cats in the house...Skittles, and Sasha, the dominant female in the bunch. We have had Sasha the longest, and she had never did anything like that. We kept a close eye on Skittles, and sure enough, the culprit was found out! I left out some 'bait', in the form of some mail I had already opened. Well, Skittles stole it, and headed straight for our bed. I couldn't believe it!

She has progressed from mail to 'shiny things', jewelry, for example. My wife now has to put her things in a small bowl with a lid on it, so Skittles will not be able to steal them! I tell ya', with cats in the house, anything is possible.
