Staying Out of "The Void"

So, to stay out of "the void" I have been trying to write as much as I can. And don't worry, my little minions...you shall not miss a thing; I am putting everything right here on these pages. Now then, a few days ago someone asked me, "what are your favorite things to drink"? Well, that is complicated(oh come on, you KNEW it would be!).

First off, and everyone here knows this one...Beer! Any kind is fine with me. If I have a choice, I like Milwaulkee's Best...I hope I spelled that right? Budwieser is ok. My all time favorite is Coors and Millers. No lite beer for me, I hate that shit. You might as well drink panther piss. So, we have that covered. Oh, and imported beer is ok, but too pricey. Sam Adams is ok, too.

Tequila!! Not just any kind, either. I only like the kind that my daughter brings back from Mexico for me when she goes. Since she only goes to Mexico once a year, then it is all that much sweeter! Whiskey is next. Jack Daniels, Canadian Club, Wild Turkey, any kind is ok with me. Whiskey is whiskey, period. I see beer as a "social drink". I see whiskey as a bracer, something to give you the false courage to take on the Biker at the end of the bar! You know, to do shit that will get you severely maimed, shit you wouldn't normally do! I only want whiskey if I am pissed off, and want to start some shit. And because of that, I tend to leave it alone.

Next is "Moonshine", "White Lightning", "Shine", "White Whiskey" "Lightning in a Bottle", "The Blue Flame". This stuff is nearly 200 proof, and can sometimes take the paint off of your car! Everyone has heard of it, but I live in a place where it can still be bought. The drink is ok, but getting it could cost you your life. 'Shiners don't like lengthy prison sentences. Better to shoot someone they don't know than to go to jail...they can always hide the body. So, don't go snooping around another man's still...it could cost ya'.

In the vein of 'Shine, my daughter brought back some Mexican 'Shine last year. They make this stuff out of cactuses, or is that 'cacti'? Anyway, this stuff is clear, and will most certainly knock your socks off! The tasteis a little rough, but it goes down smooth enough, and always has the desired effects.

Alright, at the bottom of the list is wine, wine coolers, and what I call "chick drinks"; Pina Coladas, Screwdrivers, any other mixed drinks. "Party Drinks" is another good name for them. If I am drinking 'hard liquor', I drink it straight from the bottle. Fuck all that mixin' and shit! If I have to choose between mixed drinks and beer, give me a bottle of Millers, and call it a night. I can't remember what all goes into some mixed drinks, so I'll just take mine, "neat". That is about all I need to know about ordering drinks in a bar. Speaking of bars...

I have been in a bunch of bars in my life, but never in a "club". You know the kind of bar I am talking about, right? Biker bars, sawdust on the floor, dark as hell, loud juke-box in the corner playing some Lynyrd Skynyrd, or David Allen Coe, or some shit like that. Maybe they have a girl waiting tables, or two of them. Sometimes they have a live band on the weekends, sometimes not. You know if you stay long enough you will get to see at least one fight, maybe more. I used to call it "drinks and theatre". And, if you are lucky enough, you just might be involved in one of the fights! What a way to let off some steam.  And that, my friends, is what I like to drink, and where I like to drink it. But these days, I do my drinking at home. We don't have any biker bars around here. As a matter of fact, I actually live in a "dry" county. We have to drive a ways to get booze here. Sucks, don't it? Well, as they say, "Thus endeth the lesson".

Monkeys and Shakespeare

So, there I am, reading through another Stephen King book, when something someone once said rears it's ugly head. The saying was, "Put enough monkeys in a room with typewriters, and they can write like Shakespeare". Ummm, no, they can't. I'll tell you why.

I desperately want to write my life story. I think it is important to show just how much hardship it takes to finally break a person. I think it is important to also show just how that person held on to his\her sanity for as long as they did. Or didn't. Whatever. Now, as most of you know, I already possess a decent grasp of the "Queen's English". I am not just a backwoods yahoo who was "lern't at sc'ool". I can usually hold my own in a conversation with people far removed from my social standing.

Now, knowing these facts, I ask you this; why can't I write a book? Because I am not Shakespeare. Or Stephen King. I am more like my favorite author, Edgar Allen Poe. Like him, not him. He was yards ahead of me by any stretch of anyone's imagination! He is the first author that I took an interest in when I was still in school. I think about the fourth or fith grade, I read "The Tell-Tale Heart". I was hooked from then on. The one thing that really pisses me off? He died broke and addicted to opium and "the drink". One of his friends found him in an alleyway one night. He took Mr. Poe to his home to recover. In just a few days, the world lost a great author. Dead from exposure, as much as his addictions.

I believe Mr. Poe's spirit lives on in Stephen King, I really do. I imagine Mr. King would be pretty pissed off at that notion. He wants to think that the talent is all his. And, for the most part, it probably is...mostly. You see, all of you know I don't really believe in a "God" of sorts. I do, however, believe "spirits" that are worthy can come back, sort of like a "second chance". I firmly believe that Mr. Poe has made a somewhat subtle re-appearence on this Earth. I hope Mr. King can find it in his heart to forgive me my convictions on this one. Maybe just grant me this one little quirk in my nature, and not hate me for it. He could probably sue me, but about all he would get is a bunch of cats, and maybe my beer money. I don't think he would waste his time.

So, you see, monkeys writing Shakespeare is about as absurd as me writing for Mr. King. It just couldn't happen. I don't care how many monkeys you give typewriters to, it ain't gonna happen. If that were true, I could let my little granddaughter write my material. She would certainly come closer than a bunch of simians in a closed off room! 'Till next time...

                 :)Holla' If You Hear Me!!!:)

Again??

So, Ms. Paris Hilton gets 45 days for two, count 'em, TWO DUI's. She spends three days in jail, and the Sheriff's Dept. figures she has spent enough time in jail, so they let her go. Poor thing is then dragged, kicking and screaming, back to court, where the judge then says she will serve the full sentence of 45 days. Now she says she will serve the time, but it is the hardest thing she has ever done. Boo Fuckin' Hoo!!!

Now then, to even grimmer news. The wife of a preacher from Selmer, Tennessee, shoots her husband in his sleep. Hmmm, that must be a life sentence at least. Oh, but my fair minions, it is not! This woman kills her husband in his sleep, and runs. They found her some 400 miles away two or three days later. She confesses to the killing of her husband. She was trying to hide the fact that they were in terrible debt because she was caught up in one of those "Nigerian Money Scams". You know the one...you send money to hopefully get millions in return. You need to be a third-grade drop out to fall for this shit.

So, to make a long story longer, she hires one of the Fareses. These guys are known locally as the most crooked lawyers in our area. Some of them are actually judges here, also! Convienent, no? Anyway, this murderer gets off with just three years. With the time already served, she will only put up about three more months, and she will be free. She is already fighting to get her children back!???

What do these two women have in common? They would seem to be worlds apart. But they aren't. Both are so guilty that it is disgusting. But they both got off with nothing. Where does it end? What CAN I get away with before I am locked up? If the preacher's wife was murdered by the preacher, he would have gotten two life sentences! Cut and dried, no sympathy. Ok, what about a DUI? Well, around here, it carries a $1,000 fine the first time, and about four weekends in jail. A second DUI? A fine of $1,500 or more, at the discretion of the presiding judge, a suspended license(one year), and you CAN draw six months in jail, although it is rare to do so...they want you working to pay off the fine. Third DUI? That moves you up to the "Felony" category, and you WILL go to jail, sometimes for a year or more. Lose your licensefor good, and I don't even want to know what the fine is!

Long story short, when will people be held accountable for their crimes? When they don't have money to pay shyster lawyers, that's when! Why is it that the person who murders is the "victim"?  Do you want to know why there are more blacks in prison than whites? Because a lot of whites can afford attorneys to keep them out of jail. Have you ever been in front of a judge with only a public defender? I have. The words "Man, am I fucked" take on a whole new meaning! Most public defenders are afraid of the judges they go up against. So, they tend to not argue the finer points of a case like a $500 an hour attorney would. The whole justice system is out of whack, and needs to be fixed. Things are just wrong at this time....just wrong!

Wait, I'm Not Finished Yet

Ok, so I just read the news again, and it says that Bush is getting slammed(my words, not theirs), at home and abroad. They(the media) question as to whether he deserves this? Are you shitting me? Of course he does! Finally, some republicans (I KNOW it should be capitalized, I just refuse to), are jumping ship. Now, how they have held their breath for this long is beyond me! This ship isn't sinking, it sunk several years ago! it is high time to leave. Speaking of "High Times"...

Before I moved to the "arm-pit of the world", I used to subscribe to a paper called the "High Times". It was the leading advocate for legalizing marijuana, well, that and "Rolling Stone" magazine. Where was I going with this? Oh, yeah, I still don't see why we haven't legalized "Mary Jane" yet. I would certainly use it if it were legal. I just don't want to spend the rest of my useful life in prison for smoking it right now. I haven't had any in I don't know how long. Having a family will do that to you. I know why it isn't legal right now...Bush. Hell, no one wants to fight a war if they are high! That would fuck up all of his plans!

I'm not saying everyone should, or could smoke it. But, come on, it is a natural substance, and it can be grown everywhere. Maybe that is the problem. Even the simplest of folk can grow it, so the gov't wants tighter control over it. Fuck 'em, they want to control every part of our lives lately. I am about damn sick and tired of it. Have you seen this crap about the guy infected with TB? Went to Europe to have his wedding and honeymoon? Dude has balls, that is for sure! Besides, the gov't said they would "prefer" that he not travel. He wasn't quarantined, or anything like that. Now, there is this big flap about him getting on a plane, and traveling around the globe. No one said he couldn't. Back the fuck off, big gov't! You have no right to bitch now, you should have restricted his movements beforehand! Whatever, man, whatever.

           :)Holla' If You Hear Me!!!:)

You Don't Say...

Well, well...Mr. Libby gets 21 months in jail. Let's review, shall we? He negligently, and willfully endangered the life of an undercover agent to cover up for the lies told by one Mr. George Bush. He lied to everyone who cared to question him about his "antics". He willfully withheld information crucial to the investigation of this case, and, I suspect, continues to withhold information. He helped in getting Mr. Bush his dirty little war in Iraq unlawfully. Hmmm, 21 months, that seems about fair. Are you fuckin' kidding me?!?!?!

If this were you or I, we would never see the light of day again...ever. Remember all the "trouble" Rush Limbaugh was in for illegally obtaining prescription drugs? Oh, wait, what trouble? I guess it is true that America has the "best justice that money can buy". It is sick and disgusting. I am sick of hearing about assholes getting off with nothing, or some piss-ass little sentence in some fucking "club fed" jail. George Bush should be serving about 500 life sentences for the shit he has pulled off since his tenure in office. That also goes for anyone who helped him along the way! Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Condoleza Rice, and many more. Most have tucked their tail between their legs and run. Good, keep on going you cowards. You don't deserve to live in my America.

That's right, MY AMERICA. I was born here, and I have lived on it's mean streets my entire life. Never rich, never priviliged, never above the law. An "average" citizen to the bone. Here is something interesting; a friend asked me a few days ago, "why not just hang Mr. Bush?". Well, as much as I don't like him, I would never condone the taking of a life...any life. Even one as worthless as his. I just still cannot believe that nearly every member of the congress and the senate gave him absolute power in the wake of 9/11! Now they have the nerve to cry "foul"? Some, at least. It seems like they finally came to their senses, only about six years too late! Oh well, maybe Bush is better than nothing? Nah, nothing would be better than this mess we are stuck with.

Look at where we are now...we are seen as the "bully" of the world. Countries all over the world are telling us to mind our business. I think that is a good idea...and we have a bunch to mind. Did you know that OVER HALF of the people displaced by hurricane Katrina are STILL displaced? Just ask the folks in Texas, North Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tenneesse, Missouri, and a few other states that absorbed those poor; unfortunate people. Mr. Bush has done nothing to help them. Remember the town that was completely destroyed in Oklahoma just a few weeks ago? They were getting house trailers that were meant for misplaced residents of Katrina! It was reported that way. I guess it was as close as the liberal media would get to taking a jab at Mr. Bush....you bunch of pussies! Act like you have got a pair...tell the truth!

That is it for me today. Someone else can take a turn on the soap-box. And, please, don't be a pansy-ass, tell it like it is!

A Little Too Contrived...

Ok, have you heard about this? According to C.N.N.(Contrived News Network), there were at least four men involved in a plot to blow up J.F.K. International Airport in Ney York. Really? Hmm, for an agency that couldn't forsee the plot of September 11, 2001, this seems like quite a stretch! Oh, and did they ever find the person, or persons, responsible for the Anthrax attacks on America just on the heels of 9/11?

No, they didn't. Now, to claim to have found out this new plot to "kill thousands", and "get back at those bastards"? Sorry, folks, but I ain't buying their wolf tickets. Something very wrong has been going on since the inauguration of 2001. I can't be the only one to see it. Someone out there knows more than they are telling. Sooner or later, history will bear me out. I am not wrong about this.

The news agency said that the plot was discovered by "Federal Authorities". Not F.B.I., not C.I.A., not "black ops". Not even the Justice Department, just "Federal Authorities". Now, it has ALWAYS been customary for these different government agencies to "take the credit", as it were, for foiling crimes. Not so anymore. All we get is "Federal Authorities"...non-specific crime-solvers. I still ain't buyin' it. Everyone and his brother in Washington, D.C. jumped on the F.B.I. in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. Said they were "incompetent", that they "should have known" about the attacks BEFORE they happened. Hmmm, seems like every week or so we hear about some plot that has been uncovered by these "Federal Authorities"; pretty fuckin' good for an agency/agencies that could not have found out that more than 20 terrorists were planning to hijack four different cross-country Jumbo jets!

As far as I can see, something just doesn't add up here. I have looked into the "rabbit hole", and it is DEEEEP my friends.I will include a link to this latest "plot" for your reading enjoyment...http://news.aol.com/topnews/articles/_a/new-york-airport-terror-plot/20070602123409990001....

Into the Void

Sorry, guys, I am just not inspired to do too much here lately. Or anywhere else, for that matter. I think I am headed into one of the "down times" that comes with my particular "ailment". I have no idea why you go through these "cycles" as the doc calls them. I have been told that some people can cycle several times in a day! I don't think I could take that. Up one minute, down the next.

I have quit just about everything. I am still baby-sitting for my granddaughter. She will be seven years old in July. Although, I sometimes wonder who is the watcher, and who is the watched? The incredible sense this child has about the world around her is an awesome thing to see! I am still amazed at the knowledge that her little brain holds. She is out of school for the summer, and she still has my daughter and me make out math problems for her to solve! Just amazing. Well, since I don't have much else, I will let you resume whatever you were doing...I hope it was evil, my little "minions".
